About Jig

A jig generally refers to an auxiliary tool for improving work efficiency in the process of processing and manufacturing things. The etymology is JIG, which originated overseas, and the jig is said to be a phonetic equivalent. It also means an auxiliary tool for working efficiently in manufacturing. Jig as a Japanese word has a wide range of definition and is ambiguous. Jigs are used to fix workpieces (materials) to be processed, and to guide drills, end mills, and other cutting tools used in machining to predetermined positions. In the English-speaking world, another word, FIXTURE, is used instead of JIG as a word to describe fixtures. A jig is an auxiliary tool used to match a workpiece (material) to be machined or a machined part to manufacture or measure things more precisely and efficiently.
