About Measuring equipment

A measuring device is a device for quantitatively measuring the physical quantity of an object to be measured. Equipment that aids in measurement is also sometimes classified as measuring equipment, for example ultracentrifuges and oscilloscopes that separate liquids using centrifugal force. Devices that display what is measured are also classified as measuring devices, such as energy monitors. The instruments used for measurement include contact sensors, lasers, scales, light, infrared rays, and inspection needles. Physical quantities to be measured include length, surface roughness, temperature, radiation dose, circularity, and transmittance. Other quantities that can be measured include the abundance and concentration of ions. There are various sizes of measuring instruments, from those that fit in the hand to those that are the same size as or larger than a human.
