What is a Hexanone?
Hexanone refers to a group of ketones with six carbon atoms, and the most common isomers are 2-hexanone (also known as methyl butyl ketone, MBK) and 3-hexanone. 2-Hexanone (CH₃(CH₂)₃COCH₃) is a colorless, flammable liquid with a sweet, ether-like odor. It is widely used as a solvent in the production of resins, varnishes, adhesives, and other industrial materials.
