What is a Helium (He) ?

Helium (He) is a chemical element belonging to the noble gases group (Group 18) in the periodic table. It has the atomic number 2 and is the lightest of all chemical elements. At room temperature and atmospheric pressure, helium exists as a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas. Helium was first discovered in the sun and other stars, and later confirmed on Earth. It is chemically inert, meaning it does not readily react with other elements. This low reactivity makes it ideal for use in applications where non-reactivity is important, such as in balloons and airships.

Additionally, liquid helium is used in cryogenic cooling, including cooling superconducting magnets in technologies such as MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) machines, and in various other applications requiring very low temperatures.
