What is a Aminopyrine?
Aminopyrine is a type of pyrazolone compound with the chemical formula C13H17N3O. It was commonly used as an analgesic and antipyretic, particularly for relieving symptoms of colds and influenza. However, due to the risk of serious side effects, its use has been restricted. Aminopyrine has anti-inflammatory effects, and it was particularly effective in reducing fever.
Nevertheless, aminopyrine has been linked to blood disorders and other adverse effects, and prolonged or high-dose use should be avoided. Safer alternatives are now widely used, and aminopyrine is rarely prescribed today.
