What is a Thiophene (C4H4S)?

Thiophene (chemical formula: C4H4S) is an aromatic compound that contains a sulfur atom and has a structure similar to benzene, but with one of the carbon atoms replaced by a sulfur atom. This structure gives thiophene similar chemical properties to benzene, while also giving it unique physical and chemical characteristics due to the sulfur atom.
