What is a Palladium chloride (PdCl₂)?

Palladium chloride (PdCl₂) is an inorganic compound composed of palladium and chlorine. It appears as a reddish-brown crystalline solid and is only slightly soluble in water, but dissolves in hydrochloric acid and chloride-containing solutions to form complexes. It is widely used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, particularly in cross-coupling reactions like the Stille and Suzuki reactions. It also plays a role in the production of automotive catalytic converters, electronics manufacturing, and as an intermediate in palladium metal refining.
