What is a Battery pack?
A battery pack (also called an assembled battery or battery module) is a unit made by connecting multiple battery cells in series or parallel. Each individual cell generates voltage and capacity, and when combined, they form a larger battery that provides the required voltage and capacity. Battery packs are widely used in electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy systems, portable devices, and more.
A battery pack typically involves multiple cells, and a Battery Management System (BMS) is often incorporated to monitor and control the status of each cell. The BMS manages functions such as overcharging, overdischarging, and temperature control, ensuring the overall safety and performance of the battery pack. Depending on the size and application, battery packs can be composed of different types of cells, such as lithium-ion, nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), or lead-acid batteries.
