What is a Zinc rich primer?
Zinc rich primer is "zinc rich primer" in English, which means a zinc-rich primer. As the meaning implies, it refers to a primary rust preventive paint that contains high-concentration zinc powder. By painting a metal material such as iron, the zinc powder contained in the zinc rich primer corrodes before the iron base, which has the effect of protecting the metal material inside. Furthermore, by painting with zinc rich primer, a protective film is formed, the surface film becomes finer, and it also has the effect of preventing the intrusion of air and water.
Application of Zinc rich primer
Zinc rich primers are used in buildings, bridges, steel structures, etc. to prevent metal corrosion for a long period of time. It contains a high concentration of zinc and is a type of rust preventive that can be applied firmly, so it has good adhesion and can be used in seawater. Therefore, it is possible to paint in places where hot-dip galvanizing, which has the same effect, is difficult to handle. Examples include ships, marine structures, marine containers, and vehicle paint.
