Solid-liquid separator / List of 9 manufacturers
What is a Solid-liquid separator?
A solid-liquid separator is a device that separates and removes solids in a liquid from the liquid. It is mainly used in the field of sewage treatment. Sewage treatment has two stages: the process of separating solids from sewage and the process of treating pollutants dissolved in water. The former is cost-effective to be physically performed with a solid-liquid separator. The latter is difficult with a solid-liquid separator, and biological treatment such as activated sludge is generally performed. If pollutants remain in the liquid, excess sludge after biological treatment will increase and treatment efficiency will deteriorate.
Application of Solid-liquid separator
Solid-liquid separators include equipment that pre-treats sewage treatment and equipment that aims to dehydrate and concentrate sludge. The differences are the press method for dehydration and the presence or absence of a flocculant. A device that removes solids with a screen is a device used to treat sewage. This includes screw presses, roller presses, and belt screens. The equipment used for sewage treatment may be operated without the addition of a flocculant. Vacuum dehydrators, pressure dehydrators, belt presses, screw presses, centrifugal dehydrators, etc. are devices used for sludge treatment. These sludge treatment equipment basically uses a flocculant.
