What is a Mist separator?

The mist separator is used to remove mist-like (fine mist-like) water and oil in the air. What is commonly referred to as a mist separator is the line that sends the compressed air. The compressor compresses the air many times more than the atmosphere, so the moisture in the air condenses. Since these moistures and oils can lead to equipment failure, etc., separate them with a mist separator and then supply compressed air to the required locations. The mist separator is indispensable for improving the quality of compressed air.

Application of Mist separator

Mist separators are used to improve the quality of compressed air, but are mainly used for compressed air, which is used as instrumentation air. If moisture gets into a cylinder that operates with compressed air, it may cause rust, so be sure to remove fine moisture with a mist separator. However, if oil is required, another part called a lubricator may supply only the oil. Mist separators are also important in food factories. The quality of compressed air is specified in JIS B 8392, but the quality of compressed air used in the food industry is also specified in it. That is why the mist filter is very important.
