What is a PCR plate?
A PCR plate is a plastic labware used as a reaction container when conducting a PCR experiment. A sample is placed in a depression called a well (hole) and a PCR reaction is performed. Compared to using PCR tubes, it is used for medium- to large-scale experiments with a relatively large number of samples. There are various sizes, such as 32-well plates, 48-well plates, 96-well plates, and 384-well plates, as well as various shapes and colors. Plates also feature the ability to utilize automated processes.
