What is a Solar panel?
A solar panel is a device that converts sunlight into electrical energy. It is composed of multiple solar cells, usually made from silicon, which generate electricity through the photovoltaic effect when exposed to sunlight. The electricity produced can be used for residential or commercial power supply, with excess power stored in batteries or sold back to the grid. Recent advances include highly efficient monocrystalline silicon panels and bifacial panels that generate electricity from both sides. As environmental awareness grows, solar panels are increasingly adopted worldwide as a key source of clean energy, supporting the spread of renewable energy.
Application of Solar panel
Examples of solar panel applications include the following:
1.Residential Solar Panels: Many homes install solar panels on their roofs to generate electricity for personal use. Any surplus energy can be stored in batteries or sold back to the power grid.
2.Commercial Buildings: Large shopping malls or office buildings install solar panels on rooftops or parking lots to help reduce overall energy costs while contributing to environmental sustainability.
3.Solar Farming: In agricultural settings, solar panels are placed above crops in a method known as "solar sharing," allowing farmers to produce both food and electricity, generating an additional income stream.
4.Remote or Emergency Power Supply: In areas without access to traditional power infrastructure, or during disasters when power outages occur, solar panels are used as standalone systems to provide electricity for essential devices and equipment.
