What is a Double balanced mixer?
A double balanced mixer is a type of passive mixer circuit. A mixer circuit is generally a circuit that outputs the multiplied value of two signals with different frequencies, and outputs the sum and difference frequencies of the two signals as its output signal components. A double-balanced mixer is also called a DBM from its English acronym, or a double-balanced modulator. A double-balanced mixer has a 2-input, 1-output configuration for a mixer circuit, and consists of two transformers and four diodes.
