Shunt resistor / List of 8 manufacturers
What is a Shunt resistor?
A shunt resistor is a low-resistance component used for measuring specific electric currents. Typically, a shunt resistor is connected in series within a circuit, and the voltage drop that occurs when current flows through it is measured. The magnitude of the voltage drop allows for the calculation of the current flowing through the circuit. Shunt resistors have very low resistance values, minimizing the impact on circuit operation while still enabling current measurement. These resistors are widely used in applications such as current monitoring, control, overcurrent protection, and battery current monitoring.
Application of Shunt resistor
✅ Current Monitoring
Used for monitoring the current in batteries or power supply systems.
✅ Overcurrent Protection
Used to disconnect the circuit when the current exceeds a certain limit.
✅ Vehicle Current Measurement
Employed for current measurement in vehicle electrical systems to monitor the vehicle’s health.
