What is a Slide volume?

A slide volume is a structure that moves a contact by sliding a knob horizontally. It is one of the variable resistors that change the resistance value by physically moving the contact. There are also rotary type variable resistors called rotary volume and potentiometer. The big difference is that while these move the contact in the rotational direction, the slide volume moves horizontally in one direction. In addition, the design of the slide volume can be changed so that it can handle a larger amount of structural power than the rotary type.
