What is a Dummy load?
Dummy loads are important tools mainly used in the design and testing of high frequency circuits. As the name suggests, it provides a "dummy" "load" to check various settings and operations without damaging the actual equipment. This equipment is used to test a wide variety of equipment such as power supplies, amplifiers, transformers and, of course, RF (Radio Frequency) related electronics. The dummy load safely absorbs the maximum power expected by the device to prevent damage due to overload or overcurrent during the design and testing stages.
