What is a Air spring?
An air spring is a shock absorber that utilizes the repulsive force of compressed air and the elasticity of rubber. This is a device that uses a rubber membrane filled with compressed air as a spring, and has been used in a wide variety of fields. It is characterized by its high damping capacity compared to metal springs (leaf springs and coil springs). There is little change in damping force when the load increases or decreases, and the height of the spring can be changed at constant load. It is also characterized by its high durability compared to general springs. The rubber air spring has excellent resistance to shock and vibration and has a long service life. The ability to respond flexibly to load fluctuations can extend the life of the shock absorber. However, they are more expensive than metal springs because they have ancillary parts such as air compressors and air piping. Complicates design and maintenance.
