What is a Torsion spring?

A torsion spring is a spring that produces a force through rotational motion. It is a type of coil spring, also called torsion coil spring in Japanese. When torque around the rotation axis is applied, elastic deformation occurs and reaction torque is generated. Due to its spiral shape, it is characterized by high spatial efficiency. A large torque can be generated with a relatively small size.
