What is a Tension coil spring?

An extension coil spring (tension spring, extension spring) is a coil spring that works when a force is applied in the direction of tension. Unlike compression coil springs, the direction in which the force is applied is the opposite. Tension coil springs are tightly wound with no gaps between the coils, so space can be reduced. Unlike compression coil springs, extension coil springs have hooks on both ends.
