What is a pump packing?

Pump packing refers to the packing used in pumps, and it mainly corresponds to gland packing. A pump consists of a casing, motor, shaft, bearings, blades (including gears and vanes), and shaft seals. Among them, the pump packing corresponds to the shaft seal. A shaft passes through the casing of the pump, and rotating bodies such as blades and gears are attached to the tip of the shaft. As it rotates, it pumps the liquid. Pump packing is used to fill the gap between the casing and the shaft.
