What is a Throttle valve?

A throttle valve is a valve installed in a fluid passage. The throttle valve adjusts the fluid flow rate by changing the cross-sectional area of the passage. It is mainly used to adjust the amount of intake air to the engine of automobiles, motorcycles, aircraft, agricultural machinery, etc. In the case of automobiles, the accelerator pedal is used to adjust the opening and closing of the throttle valve. In the past, it was controlled by wire using a method called a mechanical throttle, but in recent years, automobiles have progressed in electronic control, and the degree of opening and closing of the valve is electrically adjusted by a method called an electronic throttle.
