What is a Needle valve?

A needle valve is a needle-like valve with a pointed stem (valve shaft). "Needle", which means needle, is the name of the valve. In the JIS B0100 Glossary of terms for valves, needle valves are defined as needle valves as "valves with a needle-shaped valve body that facilitates flow control". Needle valves are characterized by their ability to accurately adjust the flow rate, as well as the role of a stop valve that fully opens and closes the flow path. However, it is generally intended for relatively low flow rates.
