Sealing material / List of 8 manufacturers
What is a Sealing material?
Sealing materials are substances used to create a seal between two surfaces to prevent leakage, ensuring the airtight or watertight integrity of mechanical systems. These materials are often placed in joints or gaps, preventing the escape of air, water, oil, gas, and other substances. Sealing materials can be made from various materials, including rubber, silicone, felt, and PTFE (Teflon), each with different properties such as heat resistance, chemical resistance, and pressure resistance. They are selected based on the specific application, such as in mechanical devices, piping systems, and engine components.
Application of Sealing material
✅ Automotive Engine Gaskets
Sealing materials are used between engine components to prevent leakage of oil and coolant, maintaining engine performance. Gaskets are commonly made from rubber or silicone.
✅ Piping System Seals
Sealing materials are applied to joints in piping systems to prevent leaks of water or gas. Materials with high heat resistance and chemical resistance are often used in these applications.
✅ Waterproofing for Electronic Devices
Sealing materials are used in the housings of electronic devices to prevent the intrusion of moisture and dust, protecting the internal components for a long time. Silicon and rubber are commonly used.
✅ Door Seals for Household Appliances
Sealing materials are applied to the doors of household appliances such as refrigerators and ovens to prevent leakage and maintain internal temperature, improving energy efficiency.
