What is a Sealing material?

A sealant is a material used to hold two or more objects together. It is used for piping, etc., and its purpose is to prevent leakage of fluids such as liquids and gases. Sealing materials for parts are called gaskets, packings, and O-rings, and sealing materials made by hardening chemicals are called sealing or caulking. There are also sealing materials such as sealing tape that wraps around the threads of pipe joints such as water and gas. Packing is used as the sealing material for driving parts, and gaskets are used as the sealing material for fixed parts.
