What is a Teflon seal?

A Teflon seal is a material (sealing material) that uses fluororesin called Teflon or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) as a material and is used to maintain airtightness. A seal broadly refers to a plastic material that blocks the leakage of gas or liquid for sealing, but it is also called packing or gasket. Packing and gaskets are parts that are sandwiched to improve the tightness of joints. However, "seal" is not limited to parts, but also includes tape wrapped around joints.
