Dielectric strength tester / List of 10 manufacturers
What is a Dielectric strength tester?
The insulation withstand voltage tester is a tester that can apply the insulation voltage that electrical equipment can withstand. Here, the insulation voltage is the voltage that the electrical equipment can withstand without any problems when a voltage is applied to the electrical equipment. This voltage that can be withstood is increased, and when it becomes unbearable at a certain point, that voltage is called the breakdown voltage. Dielectric strength is always required for electrical equipment. If the dielectric strength is low, it may deteriorate during use or due to external factors. In Japan, there is the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law because insulation breakdown occurs, electrical equipment breaks down, and in the worst case, a fire occurs. Dielectric strength test rules are set for each target electrical device, and we will satisfy these rules before shipping to the market. The testing machine that is always used to check the withstand voltage of 100% is the dielectric strength tester introduced this time.
Application of Dielectric strength tester
1.Electrical Cables – Insulation resistance of power cables and wires is tested to ensure they can safely handle high voltages without electrical leakage or breakdown.
2.Transformers – The insulation of transformers is tested for dielectric strength to verify their ability to withstand electrical stress without short circuits or electrical failures.
3.Motors and Electrical Equipment – The insulation properties of motors, switches, and other electrical equipment are tested to ensure they meet safety standards and operate reliably under high voltage conditions.
