What is a Anti-reflective coating?
An antireflection film is an optical film that is molded on the surface of a display to reduce surface reflection and reflection of light. A polymer film is laminated on the base film, and the difference in refractive index between the layers is used to cause light interference and weaken the reflected light to reduce the reflectance. There is also a type that scatters light by adding fine particles to the antireflection film. Anti-reflective coatings are also commercially available for home use and can be attached to the display surface of TVs, PC monitors and smartphones.
Application of Anti-reflective coating
Antireflection coatings are generally formed by applying them on a substrate, hardcourt layer, etc. In addition to the effect of suppressing surface reflection, it also has the role of suppressing the adhesion of dust and dirt, and protecting the display. Anti-reflection film with multiple layers is mainly used for displays such as TVs, PC monitors and smartphones. It is also being considered for use in large equipment such as solar heat collectors and fusion laser devices for the purpose of preventing energy loss due to surface reflection.
