What is a PVD coating?
PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is a technique used to deposit a thin metal film onto the surface of a material, such as metal or ceramic. PVD stands for "Physical Vapor Deposition," where metal is vaporized in a vacuum and the vapor is deposited onto the substrate surface. This process enhances the wear resistance, corrosion resistance, shine, and electrical properties of the coated material. PVD coating is often used to improve the hardness of metal surfaces, and it is widely applied to tools, machine parts, and decorative items. Additionally, PVD coating is environmentally friendly, as it does not require hazardous chemicals, and different coatings with varying properties can be achieved by adjusting temperature and pressure.
Application of PVD coating
1.Machine Parts: PVD coating is used on tools and machine parts to prevent wear and tear.
2.Decorative Items: PVD coatings are applied to luxury watches and jewelry to enhance both durability and aesthetics.
3.Automotive Parts: PVD coating is also applied to automotive engine components and shafts to increase corrosion resistance.
