What is a Server rack?

A server rack is a rack-type storage device for housing computer systems and network equipment. It usually consists of multiple shelves mounted on a steel frame. These shelves hold equipment such as power supply units, servers, storage devices, routers, and switches. A server rack is a device used to enable efficient equipment management from the perspective of network security and system operation management. Equipment in server racks is cooled by cooling fans and air conditioners. There is also wire space within the rack for organizing wires and cables.
