What is a Power over ethernet?

Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a technology that allows simultaneous data communication and power delivery, typically over an Ethernet cable. As a result, it has become possible to realize both data communication and power supply with a single cable, instead of the conventional method of separately performing data communication and power supply, making it possible to simplify infrastructure equipment and reduce costs.
