What is a Ultrasonic sensor?
An ultrasonic sensor uses ultrasonic waves (high-frequency sound waves above the human hearing range) to measure the distance between the sensor and an object. The sensor emits sound waves that reflect off an object and return to the sensor. By calculating the time it takes for the sound waves to return, the distance is determined. These sensors are primarily used for distance measurement and obstacle detection, offering high accuracy and stable measurements regardless of the material of the reflecting object. Ultrasonic sensors are widely used in fields such as robotics, automotive systems, industrial machinery, and medical devices due to their non-contact nature, providing high safety and reliability even in harsh environments.
Application of Ultrasonic sensor
✅ Robotics
Ultrasonic sensors are used in robotics for obstacle detection and distance measurement, enabling autonomous movement of robots. They are especially useful in autonomous vehicles and drones.
✅ Automotive
In vehicles, ultrasonic sensors are employed in parking assist systems and collision avoidance systems. They detect surrounding obstacles and warn the driver.
✅ Industrial Machinery
Ultrasonic sensors are used for position control in conveyor belts and to verify the position of products. They offer quick and accurate distance measurement, enhancing operational efficiency.
✅ Medical Devices
Ultrasonic sensors are used in medical devices to monitor heart rate or blood flow. They provide a non-contact way to assess internal conditions, offering a patient-friendly alternative to traditional methods.
