LiDAR sensor / List of 3 manufacturers
What is a LiDAR sensor?
LiDAR sensor is a general term for devices that measure the distance and shape to an object by irradiating laser light and detecting reflected light and scattered light. LiDAR is an acronym for Light Detection and Ranging and is read as "rider". In particular, it often measures flight time in light detection, and is called a TOF (Time-of-flight) sensor. The technology for measuring distances from a remote location in this way is called remote sensing technology.
Application of LiDAR sensor
LiDAR sensors have originally been used in aircraft radar and meteorological observations. In recent years, it has become an indispensable element for realizing autonomous driving technology such as detection of obstacles and surrounding vehicles in automobiles, and is being actively developed such as miniaturization and cost reduction.
