What is a Rotation sensor?
A rotation sensor is a device that collects data on how much an object rotates. Instead of using the rotation sensor alone, we will check the information obtained by connecting it to a PC or meter. There are various types of rotation sensors, including the mechanical type that recognizes the angle of rotation, the optical type that detects the passage of light, the magnetic type that is related to changes in the magnetic field, and the electromagnetic induction type. The position at which the sensor is attached to the object also affects the results. Since it will be detected at a faster speed if it is further away from the center of rotation, it is necessary to pay attention to the position when installing it.
Application of Rotation sensor
Rotation sensors are often used in automobiles. Among them, the ABS system is used. ABS is a system that prevents the wheels from locking when the brakes are applied suddenly. By preventing the lock, you can operate the steering wheel and avoid collision with obstacles. When the sensor detects a sudden drop in tire rotation speed, the ABS system is activated. The ABS system uses an electromagnetic induction type rotation sensor. Since high reliability is required, cobalt magnets with strong magnetic force are used.
