What is a CO2 sensor?
The CO2 sensor is a sensor for measuring the concentration of CO2 for purposes such as residential environments, medical care, and exhaust gas inspection. In general, the non-dispersive infrared absorption method, which utilizes the property of CO2 to absorb light at specific infrared wavelengths, is used. Then there are the solid electrolyte method, which measures the concentration of CO2, and the capacitance method, which measures the amount of change in capacitance caused by CO2 dissolving and expanding in a polymer to measure the concentration of CO2.
Application of CO2 sensor
CO2 sensors are used in factories, medical care, exhaust gas inspection, home appliances, housing equipment, agriculture, etc. Typical applications include measurement of exhaust gas from automobiles, monitoring of CO2 concentration in vehicles and rooms such as air conditioning equipment, fire alarms, and measurement of CO2 concentration in carbonated beverage manufacturing plants. When selecting a CO2 sensor, it is necessary to consider the detection accuracy of CO2 concentration, accuracy of correction processing, connectivity, size, etc.
