What is a Strain sensor?
A strain sensor is a device that converts the strain of a material into an electrical signal and measures it. When the material is pulled or compressed from the outside, the material expands and contracts according to the force. At this time, the amount of change with respect to the original length of the material is called "strain". Strain is created by the application of force, pressure, heat, etc. from the outside. Then, from the amount of strain, the stress value from the outside can be calculated. Therefore, strain sensors are used to measure stress values for the purpose of ensuring the safety of buildings and industrial equipment.
Application of Strain sensor
Strain sensors are used to check the strength and safety of products such as automobiles, railroads, aircraft transport aircraft, and buildings such as buildings. When measuring the strain of such a large building or machine, the device is glued to the surface of the positioning object. Very accurate and fast response measurement is possible, and both static and dynamic strain measurements are possible. Sensors that apply strain sensors include acceleration sensors, load cells, pressure sensors, displacement sensors, and torque sensors.
