What is a Metal detector?

A metal detector is a device that uses electromagnetic waves to detect metal in objects. Commonly used to discover underground metal reserves, underground pipes, buried coins, weapons, etc. The device typically consists of a transmitting and receiving coil, through which an electric current passes, creating an electromagnetic field that metal objects in the earth react to and detecting the signal. Metal detectors are used for a variety of purposes, including archaeological excavations, security inspections, and recreational exploration activities.
