What is a Star delta timer?
A star-delta timer is used to switch a three-phase motor between star and delta connections. This method is employed to start the motor at a lower voltage and switch to a higher voltage once the motor reaches its operating speed, reducing the inrush current during startup. The star-delta connection helps to prevent motor overload and prolongs the lifespan of the equipment. The star-delta timer controls the motor's start and transition, automatically switching from the star connection to the delta connection after a set time.
