What is a Mold transformer?
A molded transformer is a transformer whose winding part is impregnated and molded with resin such as epoxy. Also called dry type transformer. When the voltage of a transformer changes, the iron core and windings heat up due to the power loss there, so it is necessary to dissipate heat. General transformers use oil to dissipate heat, but mold transformers do not use oil, so they are excellent transformers in terms of safety such as ignition.
Application of Mold transformer
In molded transformers, the heat generated when a general transformer changes voltage is transferred to the air through a resin mold such as epoxy resin that covers the transforming coils for cooling. A typical transformer is constructed using an iron core and windings, and two coiled windings are used in which a conductor is wound around an iron core.
