A small servo motor is a motor that can perform highly accurate positioning and speed control. The motor has a built-in rotation speed and torque control device, so high-precision control is achieved by controlling while feeding back the command value. The word "servo" in servo motors is derived from the Greek word servus (slave), which means to move exactly according to commands. In the past, DC servo motors, which were driven by direct current, were the mainstream, but now AC servo motors, which are driven by alternating current, are the mainstream due to their excellent durability and maintainability. In this article, the term "small size" is used, but there is no clear definition for small size. Depending on the lineup of each motor manufacturer, they are classified into large, small, and precision.
