What is a Brushless motor?

A brushless motor is a motor that has no mechanical contacts such as the commutator or brushes. By replacing the commutator with an electronic circuit, the commutator and brushes are eliminated. A DC motor drives a permanent magnet rotor by the magnetic force of the stator winding circuit. The current is switched by a sensor and a semiconductor switch to rotate. It has the characteristics of a DC motor in that current and torque, and voltage and rotation speed are proportional, and the structure incorporates the advantages of both AC motors. They are compact, have high output, high efficiency, and long life, and do not generate sparks or noise. They are used in a wide range of applications from computers to home appliances.
