What is a Ultrasonic motor?

An ultrasonic motor is a motor that uses ultrasonic vibrations to achieve rotary or linear motion. Unlike general electric motors, it does not have a mechanism for direct contact between rotating and moving parts. Motion is realized by the transmission of ultrasonic vibrations. Since motion is achieved by transmitting vibration, almost no noise is generated during operation. Suitable for acoustically sensitive environments and equipment requiring quietness.
