Pulsed laser / List of 11 manufacturers
What is a Pulsed laser?
A pulse laser is a device that generates high-intensity laser light in very short bursts of time. The pulse length is typically measured in femtoseconds (fs) or picoseconds (ps), with each pulse lasting only nanoseconds or picoseconds. These lasers provide high peak power while maintaining relatively low average output. Pulse lasers are used in various fields such as material processing, medical applications, remote sensing, and material analysis, where the precise and rapid nature of the pulses is essential.
Application of Pulsed laser
Example 1: Material Processing
Pulse lasers are used in the cutting and drilling of metals, glass, and semiconductor materials. By concentrating high energy into very short pulses, pulse lasers allow for precise machining while minimizing thermal damage. For instance, they are used in the manufacturing of precision components and devices.
Example 2: Medical Applications
Pulse lasers are also applied in the medical field. One common application is in ophthalmic surgery, where pulse lasers are used for treatments like LASIK, which involves precisely reshaping the cornea to correct vision. They are also used in dermatological treatments, such as skin resurfacing and tattoo removal.
