Power LED / List of 5 manufacturers
What is a Power LED?
Power LEDs are semiconductor devices that emit high-intensity light, offering much higher output than conventional LEDs. Unlike regular LEDs, which are typically used for low-power applications, Power LEDs operate at higher voltages and currents, making them ideal for applications such as automotive headlights, street lighting, and large display backlighting. They are known for their excellent energy efficiency, long lifespan, and bright output. Due to their high power output, thermal management is crucial in their design. Power LEDs also have energy-saving and environmentally friendly characteristics.
Application of Power LED
Example 1: Automotive headlights
Power LEDs are used in automotive headlights, providing higher brightness and lower power consumption compared to traditional halogen lamps. This contributes to improved fuel efficiency while delivering clear lighting for both high beam and low beam functions.
Example 2: Street lighting
Power LEDs used in street lighting offer high energy efficiency and long lifespan, reducing maintenance costs and lowering overall electricity consumption in cities. They also provide better illumination for dark streets, enhancing pedestrian safety.
Example 3: TV backlighting
Power LEDs are used for the backlighting of TVs and computer monitors, offering brighter displays with vibrant colors and superior image quality. Additionally, they are energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
