What is a Sodium lamp?

Sodium lamps are a type of gas discharge lamp widely used for street lighting and industrial lighting. There are two types: high-pressure sodium lamps and low-pressure sodium lamps, both of which use sodium gas to produce light. High-pressure sodium lamps emit a very bright yellow light, making them ideal for streetlights and road illumination at night.
