What is a CCFL More?
Sodium lamps are a type of gas discharge lamp widely used for street lighting and industrial lighting. There are two types: high-pressure sodium lamps and low-pressure sodium lamps, both of which use sodium gas to produce light. High-pressure sodium lamps emit a very bright yellow light, making them ideal for streetlights and road illumination at night. Low-pressure sodium lamps emit a distinctive orange light and are often used in street lighting. Sodium lamps are known for their high energy efficiency and long lifespan, offering good cost performance. However, the color temperature of the light is limited, which may make color differentiation difficult.
Application of CCFL More
１．Backlighting for LCD Televisions
Many LCD televisions previously used CCFL backlighting to illuminate the screen. This provided bright and vibrant images. However, with the rise of LED backlighting, CCFL is now being replaced in most modern TVs.
２．Laptop Displays
Early laptop displays used CCFLs for their backlighting. While these displays were fairly bright, they were eventually replaced by LED technology due to its better energy efficiency and thinner profile.
