What is a HID lamp?
HID lamps (High-Intensity Discharge lamps) are a type of lighting fixture that produces high light output through electrical discharge. The lamp contains a high-pressure gas, and when electricity passes through it, the gas discharges and emits a strong light. HID lamps are commonly used in automotive headlights, streetlights, and projectors due to their high brightness and efficiency. They emit mostly white light with a high color temperature, offering a daylight-like illumination. However, it takes time for the brightness to stabilize immediately after turning on. Additionally, HID lamps require a special ballast, and their lifespan and light quality depend on the usage conditions.
