What is a Digital illuminometer?
The digital illuminance meter is equipped with a display board so that continuously changing illuminance can be treated as stepwise numerical data. An illuminance meter is a measuring instrument that measures and quantifies the brightness of light perceived by human vision using Lux (Lx), which is a unit of illuminance in the International System of Units (SI). It's called. There are two types of illuminance meters, digital type and analog type. The analog type illuminance meter is equipped with a scale plate that can recognize continuously changing illuminance with needles that indicate continuous changes.
Application of Digital illuminometer
Digital illuminometers are easy to handle for beginners because they are easy to read the values that come out. Furthermore, in terms of function, there are integrated type in which the sensor part and display part are connected, and separate type in which they are separated by a cable or the like. Many of the integrated types are easy to carry because they are portable, and there are cheap ones that can be easily measured and expensive ones that have a special environment or data logger function. In the separate type, you can select and change the light receiving part according to the type of light source and the measurement environment, or you can measure multiple points at the same time and record the data. The integrated type is suitable for following movement or for easily checking the illuminance outdoors, and the separate type is suitable for taking values in the artificial weather room for experiments and tests. In addition, according to Article 604 of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, the illuminance standard for work surfaces is 300Lx or more for precise work, 150Lx or more for normal work, and 70Lx or more for rough work. JIS Z9110 stipulates that sales rooms, design rooms, entrance halls, etc. are 750-1,500Lx, and executive rooms, conference rooms, computer rooms, etc. are 300-750Lx. Therefore, it is also used in facilities such as schools, factories, houses and buildings where it is necessary to maintain an occupational health environment.
