What is a Bimetal thermometer?
A bimetal thermometer is a needle that points to the memory of the display plate by winding two types of metal plates (bimetal) with different thermal expansions and using the force that bends when the temperature changes. It is a device that directly reads the measured temperature by turning the shaft. Compared to glass thermometers, it is durable, easy to handle, safe, and has a simple structure, so maintenance and inspection are easy, so it is widely used from household to industrial use.
Application of Bimetal thermometer
Describes the intended use of the bimetal thermometer. It is used indoors as a wall-mounted or stationary thermometer. Mainly manufactured by incorporating a royal fern-shaped bimetal to move the hands of the circular display board on which the memory is printed. In addition, it is used as a water temperature gauge, soil thermometer, and cooking thermometer, but it is assembled by incorporating a vine-rolled bimetal in a protruding cylinder on the back side of the display board. The types and specifications of commercially available bimetals are specified in JIS C 2530. Furthermore, even in industrial applications, it is also used for line temperature control in chemical plants, etc. due to its characteristics that it is easy to add waterproofness, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, pressure resistance, etc.
