What is a Vortex flow meter?
The vortex flowmeter is a flowmeter that uses Karman vortices. Karman vortices are alternating, regular trains of vortices that occur downstream of an object (vortex source) placed in a fluid stream. It was named "Karman vortex" because it was theoretically elucidated by the physicist Kalman. There are many types of flowmeters, but the major features of the vortex flowmeter are that it has a simple and robust structure, is accurate and has a wide flow rate range, and is compatible with many types of fluids.
Application of Vortex flow meter
The main uses of the vortex flowmeter are as follows. Flow rate measurement of steam piping Measurement of drain recovery amount Measurement of boiler water supply Automotive engine control Flow control of cooling water of the cooler The vortex flow meter can measure gas, liquid, and vapor, so it can be used in any flow measurement scene. The important point is that the measurement cannot be performed unless a vortex is generated, so make it an appropriate size for vortex generation. In the low flow range, if the vortex does not occur and the flow output does not come out, the flow cannot be measured.
