What is a Counter?
A counter is the etymology of counting (counting a number), and as the name implies, it is a device for counting the number of objects and the number of movements. Many counters mainly count the number of ON / OFF signals input through switches and sensors to measure the number of times. When humans count numbers, small numbers can be easily counted and memorized, but as the number of objects and times increases, it becomes difficult for humans to have memory alone. Therefore, the counter is a device that counts numbers correctly instead of humans.
Application of Counter
Counters are mainly used in situations where you need to count, such as measuring the number of passing cars or packing products. There are two types of counters: a preset counter that operates the control output when the count value reaches a preset value and operates the next output device, and a total counter that only displays the count value. In addition, there is an addition counter whose count value increases with each signal input and a subtraction counter whose count value decreases conversely, and some have both functions.
